MADE LONDON | Show Highlights and Designer Round Up

Posted on

We want to say a huge thank you (and warm welcome) to everyone who visited us at MADE LONDON last week. We are touched by your continued support in making our events a great success.

Thank you!

Earlier this year, PIPÉT was selected along with 6 other designers from Craft Central to take part in the Spring 18 edition of MADE LONDON CANARY WHARF.

Hosted by event organisers and designers Tutton and Young, we set up shop for 5 days in the magnificent glass domed East Wintergarden. Set alongside 90+ makers it was a really fun event full of creative energy.

Here are a few images of our colourful scarves and accessories taken at the show...

"The best thing about exhibiting at a Maker show is that we get to talk about the provenance of our products, our processes and inspirations. It’s gives us so much joy to share ours stories and connect directly with our customers. What's more, we get to learn about the creative businesses of the other designers around us". Gina Pipét

Pipet Design Made London Canary Wharf Fashion Revolution

What better way to spend Fashion Revolution Week 23-29th April than with 90+ designers all making and selling their original work.

Below is a quick round-up of the delightful brands that exhibited alongside us from Craft Central.

Sally McGill

Sally McGill Made London Canary Wharf

Sally McGill specialises in hand painted ceramics and prints. I first met Sally in her old studio at Craft Central and her work instantly caught my eye.

Sunny and bright, Sally uses soft geometrics with a hand drawn quality. Each piece is made unique, fitting to the shape of your touch when in hand. Sally's work includes prints, cups, coasters and brooches, and I'm a huge fan of her statement plates and platters.

Charlotte Reid Jewellery

Charlotte Reid Made London Canary Wharf

Charlotte specialises in fine jewellery, and I love the nature of the uniqueness of each item. Working with both Silver and Gold, she creates timeless items perfect for everyday wear, alongside those with a more unique sculptural element - to include fun and frivolous statement pieces too.

A fan of geometrics, I love her range of Hexagon and Dot necklaces and earrings.

Romor Designs

Rob Jones Made London Canary Wharf

Rob Jones is a shibori textiles designer and natural dyer. Having discovered Shibori, the ancient Japanese art of resist dyeing, at West Dean college, Rob went on to study in Japan under indigo guru, Bryan Whitehead.

Rob’s passion is in finding the new in the old, building on the tradition and centuries of skill that shibori has behind it. He believes in taking work in new directions by combining techniques and inventing his own forms.

I had a good feel of the fabrics and was truly impressed by the smooth finish of the natural cloth.

Suk Han Lee

Suk Han Lee Made London Canary Wharf

Suk Han Lee is a fellow print designer, specialising in silk scarves and printed accessories. Her prints and colour palette have a very elegant eastern influence and softness to them, which I find truly beautiful.

As well as her scarves, Suk has launched a range of shoppers and pouches available to purchase on her website at: SukHanLee

Frank Horn

Frank Horn Made London Canary Wharf

Frank Horn offers a selection of handcrafted leather accessories made right here in London. Using Vegetable tanned leather in an array of finishes, each creation is developed and crafted in-house. It was a pleasure to watch Uzo work, talking to his customers and personalising each piece with his customers initials whilst they wait.

Ana Bridgewater

Ana Bridgewater Made London Canary Wharf

Ana creates ceramic candles and porcelain lampshades from her base in London. She is a sculptor and installation artist that has started a business in organic reusable candles and decorative lamps. Her pieces are so delicate and light, and finished with a touch of gold. I love the fact that the ceramic candle vessels can be reused for a new purpose once finished!
