Abstracted views of parkland, public spaces, and subterranean tunnels form the basis of each print in the AW14 Landmark collection. Discovering views that lie below Dusseldorf’s Rheinturm I explored the city’s virtuous urban arrangements whereby the people and traffic live harmoniously.
Drawn to the diversity of form in urban architecture, I wanted to create collection that was as visually impacting and diverse. Rife with geometric expression, my precise patterns are conceived with a decorative edge, and hints of intricate Eastern influence and scales of primitive proportions are seen in amongst the grid like formations, stripes and lattices of the designs. Focusing on an aesthetic that is elegant and unique, I look to apply a contemporary take on classic items. Throughout each of my collections I have maintained traditional elements of scarf design, but modified these through a creative use of colour, scale and arrangement of prints.
Colours are rich and bold, flattering the formal nature of the prints. Dominated by wintery shades of damson, wine and deep blue the collection is tempered by the opulent teal and soft ivory of the season. Diverse additions of blush pink and crisp white add a lighter feel and suitably feminine embrace to the collection.
Women’s scarves include an enticing mix of hankies, petite and small squares alongside the classic 90x90cm square and long slim rectangle. Fabrics reflect my penchant for clean lines - choosing a luxurious silk crepe de chine for its elegant drape, understated matt finish, and ability to deliver the clarity and depth required of the print.
The Landmark collection welcomes a second season of Men’s pocket squares in a range of four suave geometric prints. Measuring 38cm square each item is handmade from timeless silk twill selected for its delicate drape and glorious fold.
Lifestyle accessories include my practical printed cotton canvas iPad sleeves and versatile zip purses which have been seen in publications such as Elle Decoration, The Guardian and Living ETC.
