Everyone loves a round-up of the best bits at this time of year - and that includes us too! Thanks for helping make 2018 a great success. Take a look at some of our brand highlights including our favourite places to visit, best blog read and the Top 9 Instagram posts of 2018.
January 18 - A Designer Vision
We started off the year with our collaboration in January with Cult Vision. A London based opticians specialising in unique contemporary eyewear chosen from a handful of independent, carefully selected, design and craft-led spectacle brands.
An initiative to champion local designers, Gina Pipét was the 2nd designer to curate a creative window display in the Cult Vision store at the foot of London's Barbican Centre. We featured a selection of our new designs from our architecturally inspired and aptly titled Barbican Collection including our scarves, umbrellas and fabric designs.

January - April 18 - Rhythm & Reaction
This spring we had the pleasure of working with Two Temple Place along London's Embankment. After seeing our designs at the 1920's Jazz Age show in the Fashion and Textiles Museum Shop, Two Temple Place commissioned their own Jazz age inspired range of Pipét skinny scarves for their Rhythm & Reaction exhibition.
Running from Jan - April, they host a new exhibition for the first part of each year. Next up for 2019 is John Ruskin: The Power of Seeing. Entry is Free, and it's well worth making a little extra time to check out the beautiful Arts and Craft inspired building and the stunning mosaic marble floor of the grand staircase.
April 18 - MADE LONDON
What better way to spend Fashion Revolution Week 23-29th April than with 90+ designers all making and selling their original work at MADE Canary Wharf. Exhibiting with Craft Central we had a fantastic time and enjoyed meeting so many new friends and customers - thanks for coming by!
July - Summer Vacation & Inspirations
Montréal, Canada - I was promised good things and this city did not disappoint! One of the most colourful architecture explores I've done in a long time. Top 3 gems include a walk through the Tunnel pietonnier Champ-de-Mars, onwards to experience the immersive and uplifting interior of the Palais Des Congres de Montreal (taking shelter from the 38 degree heat) and a couple of hours cycling out to see the modular Brutalist architecture of Habitat 67 on the cooler days.

Visit in the (hot!) summer months when the Jazz Festival is on and discover the city's creativity - including the unique subway stations and charming cafés. Don't leave without stopping at Montreal's most famous - L'originale Fairmont bagels!

Behind the scenes at the shoot...
On location at the industrial old forge building of Craft Central we created two key themes, with 3 final looks for each collection. Below are 2 of the main campaign shots which we absolutely love!

SEPTEMBER - DECOREX 18
With stunning images in hand, this September we launched our new bespoke fabric collections at the UK's most renowned Luxury Interior Trade Show Decorex as part of Craftworks.
A new initiative for emerging design brands, Pipét Design was part of a group of ten designers ranging from textiles, lighting, furniture, wallpaper, metalwork and object d'art. Our offering included our new fabrics and a custom make up service to interior designers, specifiers and buyers.

Our Favourite Blog of 2018
I don't get time for much before starting the business crunch each morning, but I do make time for Artsy Magazine. Filled with art news, exhibitions, artist stories and anecdotes it's a little bit of creativity in my inbox to start the day.
I particularly like this recent Artsy post as I'm writing this piece at the end of a challenging year > Pablo Picasso on Achieving Success without Sacrificing Your Vision...

November & December 18 - New Collaborations and Shows
This year we joined forces with some fantastic brands and took part in some new design events. These included SAMPLE with Hemingway Design for both Autumn (with Lone Design Club) and Winter Edition at NOW Gallery in North Greenwich.
It was a pleasure to be welcomed back to our regular spot at Craft Central Xmas Market at the Forge in November, finishing up with our last event of the festive season with The Creative Edit x Makers House at Milliken.
Championing small business
As I continue my creative journey as a independent designer I am continually inspired by many dedicated people along the way be it my peer designers, indie shop owners or creative business mentors.
Thanks to Nicola, Alison, Sandra, Jane, Doug, Brittany - the talented people that help make my products, and all the organisations who create the opportunities for us to sell.
I need to extend a special thanks to Louisa Pacifico of Future Icons. My Enterprise Business Mentor Tess, and SEO Expert Danny Richman from The Prince's Trust. All who continue to champion small businesses and go that extra mile.
Thank you for your support too!
One of the most enjoyable parts of my job is meeting so many interesting people! I want to say a huge thanks for your continued support, whether it be by keeping in touch through the year, making a purchase, or simply by coming to our events to say 'Hi!'.
Thanks for taking a look back with us, and here's to an exciting year ahead in 2019!
Best wishes,
