Gina Pipet Studio

Gina Pipét is the creative designer and founder of accessories label PIPÉT. Trained in the art of pattern design at Winchester School of Art, Gina began her career working for the prestigious fashion house Liberty of London. Following a decade in the fashion industry Gina took her wealth of experience in the luxury fashion and high-end goods sector and launched her eponymous accessories label PIPÉT.

Creative inspiration

With print and pattern at the heart of everything she does, Gina Pipét takes a look at British eclecticism and fuses it with a clean modern sensibility. Exploration of the man made world has become a large part of inspiration for the designer, seeking out the unknown and taking an attentive and curious look at her subjects. Living in and travelling to major cities has led to a shift in her aesthetic with her focus now caught in the exploration inner-city landscapes and architectural details.

Known for her brave use of colour, her confident geometrics and recognisable patterns are sophisticated, but never shy, reflecting her contemporary yet classic personal style.

Design career

Beginning her career at the UK’s most renowned pattern design companies was a huge starting point for the young designer. In her 5 years at the studio she worked across a breadth of luxury product and helped develop some of Liberty of London’s most iconic designs to date. In 2010 Gina went on to accept a position in the design team at British clothing brand AllSaints as Senior Menswear Product Developer, equipping her with the skills needed to start her own creative line.

In 2012 Gina took her wealth of experience in the luxury fashion and high-end goods sector and launched her eponymous accessories label PIPÉT.  Since its launch the brand has been featured in some of the UK's top fashion and design journals including Elle Decoration, The Times, The Guardian, Living ETC. This has led to the opportunity for collaborations and exclusive scarf designs for London’s vibrant Fashion and Textile Museum, Royal Academy of Arts and most recently Imperial College London.

PIPÉT has gone from strength to strength, expanding its designs and products, as well as its portfolio. Gina Pipét has taken the design studio into the world of interiors after being commissioned to design and produce several high end furnishing projects. These contracts include bespoke wallpaper and custom made furnishings for private clients and exclusive luxury residential properties within Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and London’s prestigious Mayfair.

Artistic background

From her artistic upbringing Gina studied Fine Art, Textiles and Photography before graduating in Printed Textiles at Winchester School of Art. It was during her final year that Gina really began developing her distinctive handwriting. The influence of Voysey, Crane, Mucha and of course William Morris instilled a love of traditional repeating designs. Op Artists such as M.C. Escher, Vasarely and Riley have been influential to the way she views the line on the page often experimenting with motifs and colour perception in her work.

Gina is a longstanding member of Craft Central and is represented by Future Icons. She is part of the Crafts Council and Make it British directories, supporting skilled heritage makers and local manufacturing.
