The Forge Open for Open House Weekend
For the second time, Craft Central will be taking part in Open House London. Each year over a quarter of a million people take part in the Open House weekend, visiting over 800 buildings, walks, talks and tours across London. The Forge will be one of these.
You will be able to take a look inside our magnificent 19th century Forge, formerly a part of Millwall Ironworks, and see how it has been imaginatively converted into 67 studios, shared workspace, desks and exhibition space. There will be several working maker studios opens, work on display and pre-bookable Saroi Weave workshops.
The local Friends of Island History Trust will present historical photographs from their archive, and will be on hand to talk about the history of the building - and the Isle of Dogs more widely.
